Fall 2026 Session Information

Session Dates

Monday, August 17 – Thursday, December 17, 2026

At Joy in Motion, we offer thoughtfully tiered training for dancers of all ages, abilities, and commitment levels. From first-time dancers to advanced performers, our programs are designed to help every student grow with confidence, strong technique, and a love of dance.

We continue to offer classes for beginners, as well as director-placed and audition-based classes and crews. Winter/Spring 2026 dancers will receive Director Placement notifications for Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, and advanced Hip Hop classes before registration opens.

Priority Registration

Opens: Tuesday, July 21 at 10:00 AM
Closes: Thursday, July 23 at 10:00 AM

Who is eligible?

Winter/Spring 2026 dancers (priority is per dancer, not per family)
Exception: Summer 2026 dancers ages 3–4 who took Creative Ballet or Lil' Funky Freedom may register early for one Fall class in either Creative Ballet or Lil' Funky Freedom only.

New Summer 4-year-olds enrolling in Funky Freedom or 4–5 Year-Old Combo classes must wait for Open Registration.

All registrations are time-stamped and reviewed individually. Any ineligible Priority Registration will be canceled, and the dancer must re-enroll or join the waitlist during Open Registration.

Waitlists from Fall into Winter/Spring

We strongly encourage joining the waitlist for every class you're interested in.

Waitlists will continue to be used through Fall 2026 going into Winter/Spring 2027 enrollment.
Fall 2026 dancers receive first priority to continue into the Winter/Spring 2027 session.
If space becomes available during Fall 2026, we will honor transfer requests first, followed by dancers on the July 2026 waitlist.

Payment Options

Before completing registration, check your Payment Plan in the Portal. You may choose to pay in full or through available installment options.

The complete Fall schedule is available online. Families may browse the Full Schedule or view classes by Age Group, and can register or join waitlists directly through our website.

Frequently Asked Registration Questions

Can you pre-register my dancer if we'll be on vacation?

Unfortunately, no. To ensure a fair registration process for all families, we cannot pre-enroll dancers in non-placement classes.

If you'll be away during registration, we recommend asking a trusted friend or family member to register on your behalf.

My child reaches the required age shortly after classes begin. Can they register for the older age group?

No. Dancers must meet the age requirement at the time of registration, and the registration system will not allow enrollment before then.

We understand this affects several families each year. After classes begin, if a transfer is appropriate and space is available, we will evaluate those requests. Current dancers requesting transfers are given priority before waitlists are considered.

Can my dancer enroll in two classes of the same genre?

Technically, yes - but we ask that you register for only one class per genre during enrollment. This includes Combo Classes and both 3–4 Year-Old class options.

Our goal is to give as many dancers as possible the opportunity to enroll. If duplicate enrollments prevent another dancer from getting a spot, we may ask you to choose just one class.

If you'd like your dancer to take a second class in the same genre, let us know! We'll gladly add them to the waitlist, and if space is available after enrollment, we'll be happy to enroll them in an additional class.
