PAYMENT POLICIES

Our system requires each family to keep a current VISA, Discover, or Mastercard on file. We do not accept AMEX.

  • Payments do NOT process automatically upon registration.

    • By agreeing to Joy in Motion’s payment policy, you authorize Joy in Motion to charge the card on file when fees are due.

  • Check or cash payments are accepted if noted in the comment section during registration or communicated via email.

  • If a credit card cannot be processed and a payment becomes more than 30 days overdue, a $35 late fee will be applied.

  • Any student with tuition 30 days past due and no account payments may be asked to stay home until the account is current.

  • If your account has a credit, it will be applied first, and any remaining balance will then be charged.

Fall & Winter/Spring Sessions

  • Families may either:

    • Pay manually in the portal after fees are posted, or

    • Have Joy in Motion apply credits and process charges within three days of registration

  • Please ensure:

    • Your card on file is current and not expired

    • Your preferred payment plan is selected

Summer Session

  • No payment plans are available

  • Classes and camps are posted to accounts upon registration

  • Credits will be applied and remaining balances charged within three days, unless you choose to pay manually in the portal

PRIVACY POLICY

Joy in Motion is committed to protecting your personal and payment information.

  • Your information is never shared

  • Credit card numbers are not stored in our system

  • Payments are securely processed through PCI-compliant SafeSave Payments

  • Joy in Motion staff cannot view full credit card numbers

FALL & WINTER/SPRING WITHDRAWAL & REFUND POLICY

  • No refunds or credits within 7 days of the class start date

  • If you withdraw before 7 days prior to the class start date and we are able to fill your spot:

    • Tuition may be refunded minus a 6% processing fee, or

    • Transferred in full as JiM credit, valid for 1 year

  • If enrolled in an installment plan:

    • Future installments will not be charged if notice is given within 14 days of the next payment due date

📌 Students are presumed enrolled for the entire session.

* Due to the popularity of our program, we do not offer trial classes. We recommend selecting the 4-payment plan; if the class is not the right fit, you will only be charged the first installment.

SUMMER WITHDRAWAL & REFUND POLICY

  • No refunds within 14 days of the class start date

  • If withdrawn before 14 days prior to the start date:

    • 50% of tuition will be refunded or credited to your account

  • JiM credit expires after 1 year

CANCELLATION BY JOY IN MOTION

Joy in Motion reserves the right to cancel or replace any class due to low enrollment. Cancelled classes will receive a full refund.

MAKE-UP CLASSES

  • Youth dancers: Up to 2 make-up classes per session

  • Adult dancers: Up to 3 make-up classes per session (must be enrolled in at least one class for the full session)

Please contact us for make-up recommendations.

ADULT CLASS PASSES

Adult class passes do not roll over.

  • We encourage commitment and accountability, and our software does not allow rollovers.

WEATHER & AIR QUALITY POLICIES

  • Extreme Cold or Heavy Rain:
    If temperatures drop below 45°F or rain is excessive, outdoor parking lot classes may move indoors to Studio 4, at the director’s discretion.

  • Air Quality Index (AQI):
    If AQI reaches or approaches the Red Zone (150), outdoor classes may move indoors to Studio 4, at the director’s discretion.

ARRIVAL & PICK-UP POLICIES

  • The back parking lot is available except during outdoor classes

  • For front lot parking:

    • Enter from Country Club Drive / SiSi’s side

    • Do NOT enter from School Street

🚫 Do not stop in the middle of the street for drop-off or pick-up
🚫 DO NOT PARK in the Montessori School’s lot at any time

✔ Please follow all traffic rules
✔ Be patient during peak arrival times
✔ Enter the studio no earlier than 10 minutes before class

WHO IS ALLOWED IN THE STUDIO?

Visitors are welcome.

  • Viewing windows, lobby, and lounge with WiFi and video monitors are available.

  • Siblings and friends must not:

    • Act as distractions

    • Use the space as a playground
      (This applies to outdoor classes as well.)

🚫 NO STREET SHOES ON DANCE FLOORS — EVER

  • Hip Hop dancers must bring clean athletic shoes to change into

  • Dance shoes must not be worn outside

  • Outdoor classes: dress appropriately for the weather

ENROLLMENT FAQs

Vacation During Enrollment?

We cannot pre-enroll dancers for non-placement classes. Families manage every year with help from friends or relatives. To remain fair, this policy is firm.

Age Requirement Not Met by Start Date?

Unfortunately, registration is not permitted until age requirements are met and the system won’t allow you to register a dancer who has not yet met the age requirement by the class start date. We know this can be disappointing—several dancers each year are in the same situation. The good news is, they’ll be with others in the same boat! If, after a few weeks, we believe a transfer is the right fit and space allows, we’ll address it then. Active dancers needing a transfer will always be prioritized before we pull from the waitlist. Currently enrolled dancers are always prioritized over waitlists.

ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Joy in Motion is a shared space—please clean up after yourselves

  • Phones and Apple Watches will be removed if distracting

  • Bikes and helmets may be locked to the white handrails at the front ramp

  • Portable HEPA air purifiers run in all studios

  • Dancers with multiple indoor classes may wait in the lobby or lounge

  • Dancers with only one class should arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before class

  • Main entrance is on School Street

  • Bring a filled water bottle

  • Shoes must be clean for indoor use

  • Dancers may change their shoes in the Lobby and leave belongings in a cubby. They can take their water bottle to class.

  • Bathrooms are not changing rooms—please use the designated changing area
