It’s never too late to learn something new!
We are offering TWO 4-Week Adult Tap classes in addition to our weekly Broadway Tap class option.
For those of you who already tap and love getting into rhythmic exercises, rudiments, and short combos, we are offering an Intermediate Rhythm Tap Dance Class. If you’ve never tapped, or want to revisit the basics to prevent the dust from collecting on your tap shoes, the beginning class is the perfect way to step into or back into the world of tap.
In both classes you will be explore tap fundamentals and the rich history and culture behind the art form, guided by Gina Fong Seidler. Learn (or revisit) basic tap steps as you dive into basic music theory, technique, improvisation, and practical application to help you find your own rhythm and style.
We understand buying a pair of taps shoes is a big expense for 4 hours, but they are helpful? Can you borrow some? If it isn’t an option, leather-soled shoes with good support will work just fine. Get ready to have fun, move your feet, and connect with others who share your excitement for dance in a fun, stress-free, and supportive space. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to TAP into something new (and familiar)!

TEACHING ARTIST - GINA FONG SEIDLER
As a seasoned dancer with a passion for the rhythmic and expressive art of tap dance, her journey through the world of dance is both diverse and deeply committed. She began her formal dance education as a youth at the Alameda School of Dance and went on to minor in dance at San Francisco State University. Over the years, her love for dance has remained a constant, with a special focus on tap dancing which, thanks to the Pandemic, has only grown stronger with time.
In the summer of 2019, at the age of 52 and prompted by the encouragement of a close friend, she took a leap of faith and auditioned for Bay Area Dancers (BAD). BAD is a unique collective of trained dancers who, despite the demands of full-time jobs and family commitments, share a profound passion for the joy and fulfillment that come from performing. Joining BAD has allowed her to engage in the camaraderie, commitment, and sheer fun of dancing within a group, fulfilling a lifelong yearning for collective & creative expression. She’s perfect for Joy in Motion.
Her journey in dance is a testament to the belief that it's never too late to pursue your passions or to redefine your path. She’s excited to continue exploring the limitless possibilities that tap dance offers, sharing its joy and rhythmic beauty with audiences around the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
